I still have the journals from every move I made since I got married. Thankfully, they are few, but they are precious.

Good luck on your move!

I hear ya on this one! We're doing our second PCS in 12 months. We have about 3 weeks until movers come so I am making my checklists now and this weekend we'll start sorting stuff...again. On the bright side, we knew this was coming and did a majority of the organizing last year when we moved.

When I read the notebook tip I had to laugh because I have always kept one and I guard it with my life:)

Thanks for the advice! As a first timer, I'm pretty sure I won't accomplish all I plan to do, but the opportunity is amazing, and I can't wait!

You're right on every count, Lisa, right down to the cooperative fellow authors.

Yes, we all compete for the same readers, but unlike most "consumable products" (such as vitamins, snacks, or other paper goods) the consumers of books are known for wanting a new experience every time. When someone likes an author within my genre, chances are they may like my spin on it.

To me, this is part of what makes writing such a "team" effort. The other writer's readers (say that 3 X fast, lol) see our name in association and go "hmmm... I wonder if she/he is as good as..." Which leads to blogs such as this one, where a group of us with something in common comes together and each has a chance to share.
